Kolek Anticipates Brady Joining Celebrity Ranks
New York Knicks point guard Tyler Kolek believes that NFL icon Tom Brady will make more appearances among celebrities next season.
“He’s been around before, but it would be great to see him more often,” Kolek mentioned during a conversation with Page Six at the 2026 ESPY Awards in New York City.
“I grew up a Patriots fan. After he left, I sort of followed him to the Buccaneers because, well, I was more a fan of Tom Brady than the team itself,” he reflected.
Kolek, 25, expressed appreciation for the famous faces who support the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, including Timothée Chalamet, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, and Ben Stiller.
“I saw Chalamet throughout the playoffs last year. So, of course, I expected to see him here again this year,” he said regarding the “Marty Supreme” actor.
He added, “The support we have from fans like Spike, Tracy, and Ben at home and away games is fantastic.”
Discussing the Knicks’ championship win, their first since 1973, he remarked, “That’s true! The whole city and fan base felt it, which made it special for everyone.” Yet, the focus is on winning consecutive championships, so the team plans to stay active in the offseason.
“It starts now. It’s all about summer training,” Kolek stated. “We’ve put in a lot of effort this past season, and while we know we’ll still be playing into late summer, the goal is to keep improving.”
With enthusiasm, he said, “We’re preparing for next year.”
At the 2026 ESPY Awards, Kolek wasn’t alone; teammates Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, Jose Alvarado, and Mikal Bridges were present as well.
The Knicks recently secured their first NBA championship in 53 years, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the Finals.
Following their victory, the team celebrated with a ticker tape parade in Manhattan, during which Kolek was jokingly mistaken for an exuberant fan while trying to return to his float. “I was just having fun and enjoying the moment… it’s all good!” he said.
Celebrations in New York City included various hotspots like Fly Fish Club and Chez Margaux.
