New Footage Emerges of Mitch McConnell in Ambulance
Recently released video appears to show Republican Senator Mitch McConnell being transported in an ambulance. According to reports, the footage captures paramedics taking him on a stretcher after they were summoned to his home last month due to an unconscious individual.
In the video, emergency services audio mentions a patient in “cardiopulmonary arrest,” with procedures like CPR being highlighted. This has added to the surrounding uncertainty regarding McConnell’s health circumstances, which have often remained unclear.
Neighbors reported witnessing a significant emergency response outside McConnell’s residence early in the morning on June 14. They noted the presence of two ambulances, fire trucks, and law enforcement blocking off the street. About half an hour later, they observed paramedics bring someone out on a stretcher.
Speculation has intensified about McConnell’s situation due to his extended stay in the hospital, leading several in the Republican party to comment on their recent interactions with him. A neighbor captured a video showing the stretcher being loaded into the ambulance, but the individual’s face was obscured since the shot was taken from afar. Notably, the person’s lower body was covered by an orange blanket, though their feet were visible.
While many neighbors inquired about the incident, they were simply told it was a “medical emergency.” When pressed about whether it was McConnell specifically, the officers seemed vague, indicating road closures instead.
Some neighbors mentioned they couldn’t see the person’s face but others later claimed it was indeed McConnell, and he wasn’t using an oxygen mask. One neighbor remembered seeing his legs, stating they appeared to not be moving, which raised concerns.
A spokesperson for McConnell confirmed he had been “admitted that morning” and was getting “excellent treatment.” Emergency dispatch audio indicated that paramedics were called for someone who was “unconscious” and had experienced “cardiac arrest.” The recording included someone confirming they were performing CPR.
Despite the gravity of the situation implied in the dispatches, neighbors observed that the emergency response did not seem particularly urgent. One resident remarked that unlike other high-pressure scenarios, everything appeared somewhat calm.
Political commentator Scott Jennings later spoke with McConnell and mentioned that the senator’s voice sounded strong and that he seemed to be feeling well enough for a conversation.
Public inquiries directed at McConnell’s office about his health have gone unanswered as of now.
