NewsBoys Frontman Michael Tait Came to Christ after Hearing a Message about Hell

Newsboys frontman Michael Tait recently reflected on his life, career and how he came to save his faith.

recently interview On CBN Digital, Tate shared the lessons he has learned throughout his long music career.

“One big thing I learned was [is] “When you're doing what you're supposed to do, you just stay true to who you are,” he said.

He credits the “power of Almighty God” for allowing him to spend so many years in the music industry, adding that he believes his music gets stronger and more creative as he gets older.

Tate also opened up about his own faith journey, sharing that he was “late” in fully dedicating his life to Christ.

“My father was also a taxi driver, so…he drove taxis and preached in church on Sundays,” he said. “If you had been in my father's taxi, there was a good chance you could have been saved in many ways.”

When Tate was 17 or 18, a preacher came to his school and spoke on “the subject of hell, and how real it is, and how beautiful heaven is.”

“He preached about things that preachers don't often preach,” the singer said. “We can't rely on mom and dad's backs to be saved. It's not osmosis. It's something we have to be one-on-one with God.”

“I was excited that day, just kidding,” he added. “I got better, went to prayer, and accepted God as my Savior that day in high school.”

Like other Christians, Tate acknowledged that there were “seasons” in his faith journey, saying, “We are sinners saved by grace.”

Nevertheless, the singer emphasized that God has been faithful to him throughout his life.

“He kept bringing me back to the cross when I was terribly unfaithful,” Tate said.
