Newsweek tries gaslighting Americans again — this time about Trump’s deportation numbers

Newsweek, a left-leaning outfit that repeatedly prioritizes stories over facts and common sense, last week violated the key facts of the obvious efforts to portray the Trump administration's deportation efforts as relative failures. It continued.

Dan Gooding, a British reporter covering Newsweek immigrants in New York City; I insisted With the current deportation rate of the Trump administration, “it would be on track to deport half of the migrants removed in the last full fiscal year of former President Joe Biden in 2024.”

The question of Gooding's allegations he hinted at was evidence that President Donald Trump was groping the ball on a major campaign promise, and that he was centered around misreading of facts.

The Newsweek writer apparently builds his point on what an unnamed “expert” says. Ministry of Homeland Security Announcement on February 4th Those 5,693 illegal aliens were deported or taken away in Trump's first two weeks. It also compares the number of foreigners caused by US customs and border security at the border with an embedded dataset.

“The failed legacy media is relying on lies.”

Gooding said, “The last monthly figure available from the Biden presidency in November 2024 shows a total of 48,970 deletions, averagering around 12,200 a week.”

However, that number is not the number of deportations or removals that month. According to The Bureau of Homeland Security Statistics reflects the figures of 48,970. Total remittance November includes removal, expulsion and return.

Returns not based on the removal order include voluntary departure, voluntary returns, and withdrawal of admission applications. The return, which accounted for a large portion of the 2024 repatriation, was not mentioned in the DHS announcement, where Goodman raised the starting point for his comparison.

White House Puffifer, assistant director of communications at the White House, told Blaze News, that the yet-to-revised Newsweek article “compare apples and oranges.”

“The failed legacy media relied on lying rather than honestly covering Trump's successful immigration policies,” Pfeiffer said.

Newsweek again made the facts wrong, but Trump's border emperor Tom Homan recently revealed he wanted to step up his arrests and deportation.

Homan I said News Nation on the topic of Tuesday's ice arrest “If you look at the rest of the interior enforcement, it's about three times more than today's year ago. It's good to be three times more expensive, but I'm not satisfied Hundreds of thousands of aliens needing to be arrested.”

“The sanctuary cities are raising obstacles. There are leaks. Therefore, there is a need to increase the arrests of illegal aliens, especially those who have been criminally convicted.
