NFL draft expert Todd McShay making shocking Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart prediction

Who knows where the Shedeur Sanders will land in the 2025 NFL Draft, but draft analyst Todd McShay predicts that the Colorado quarterback will not be the second signalling caller selected after Miami's Cam Ward.

In Ringer's latest mock draft, McShay pegged Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart as the second quarterback filmed in the first round, owning the No. 9 pick in the first round. It's covered USA TODAY.

Dirt, whose draft stock has risen in recent months, has the same “qualities” as the quarterbacks who have previously worked with new Saints coaches, including Cowboys' Duck Prescott, Chargers' Justin Herbert and newly minted Super Bowl champion Jaylen Hart.

“He's used to being bigger, more mobile and more powerful quarterbacks, and those are the three qualities Jaxson Dart has.” McShay said of a 6-foot-2 prospect on Thursday on his self-titled podcast.

“That doesn't necessarily mean Jaxson Dart is better than Shedeur.

At the forefront of this month's NFL Draft, Ward is projected to land alongside the Titans on the No. 1 overall pick in countless mock drafts, with the 23-year-old Sanders linking with the top pick team.

Sanders, son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, isn't the second quarterback taken on the board, but McShay believes it will take place in the first round via Browns Trade with Falcons at Pick No. 15.

“[Browns coach] Kevin Stefanski thinks Shedur Sanders will have a great time as Kevin beat those guys. McShay said. [whiff, whiff, whiff] Carving people. ”

McShay's mock was posted on the same day Sanders visited the Steelers.

“I enjoyed my time here in Pittsburgh. I think I'm connected well with all the coaches. That was really fun.” Saunders saidranked visits as “10”

The Steelers were able to do so much as Sanders' landing following developments from Cleveland on Friday, with the Browns signing a one-year contract with veteran Joe Flaco.

The move allowed the Browns, who also have quarterback Kenny Pickett and injured Desshaun Watson on the roster, could pivot from QB position at two-way star Travis Hunter, a receiver who won the High Swiss Man Trophy or cornerback for Colorado or Pennsylvania Edge Rush Abdul Carter.

However, if the Browns have enough faith in Sanders, if he is still available, there could be a deal to the first round on the table.

The 2025 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 24th in Green Bay.
