Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams earned the first win of his professional career on Sunday, but it didn't seem like his performance contributed to the win.
Williams was held to just 93 passing yards as the Bears' scoring came on defense and special teams.

NFL legend Joe Theismann on OutKick “The Ricky Cobb Show” On Monday, he spoke about the 2024 No. 1 overall pick's performance.
“Caleb has learned that he can't run away from defensive linemen at this level and he can't run around them,” Theismann said. “He's going to play great. You saw that yesterday. He's a very talented young man. That's why he was the No. 1 pick, because he has the talent. But there's a learning process and a big transition that he and all of our young players have to master. Right now, it's just the first step.”
The coach fired kicker Cade York after he missed two field goals in the season opener.

Williams was sacked for 19 yards during the game, a play that Theismann said highlighted the fact that the former USC star is no longer playing college football.
“It was a lot like what I saw at USC, but he was running from people,” he said. “If you look at him in college, he was probably one or two of the best athletes on the field. That's not the case now. You've got 250, 260-pound defensive linemen who run just as fast as you and are just as quick as you.”
“He'll learn. There's a reason he was picked No. 1. He has a ton of talent. Now it's just a matter of processing all the mountains of information.”
