Nicolas Cage, the star of ‘The Surfer,’ ‘might have lost his life’ while doing a risky stunt.

Recently, Nicolas Cage shared a rather intense experience he had while preparing for his new film “Surfer.” The 61-year-old actor described how he felt he was “slapped by the blacksmith” while trying to hone his surfing skills. In his role, Cage portrays a businessman returning to Australia with hopes of purchasing a childhood beach house.

He recalled, “I surfed, and every time I tried to surf, I was hit by the blacksmith.” This happened at Sunset Beach, where his instructor handed him a short board, contrary to his request for a long one. Cage explained, “I was just pounded, literally stuck in a rift. They said they saw my board poking out of the water like a ‘tombstone.’”

It got pretty precarious, as he said, “I’m paralyzed, so I’m climbing the string. I might die. I have a young child now. I don’t know if I want to do it anymore.” Despite his long career spanning over 40 years, he recently expressed a desire to step back from acting.

Cage reflected, “At this point, I feel like I have said almost all of the things I have to say in the film, after doing over 100 movies.” He feels he might need to complete a few more projects before he’s ready to call it quits.

He added, somewhat wistfully, “In the ‘dream scenario,’ I would have wanted to leave it at high notes. But I have other contracts to fulfill, so we’ll see how that goes.” His ambition? Simply put, he aims to retire, enjoy some surfing, drink red wine, and eat spaghetti.
