Jack Black made a surprise appearance at AMC Century City in Los Angeles and delivered a message amid a wild new trend at screenings of “A Minecraft Movie.”
The famous actor attended a screening of the Hollywood film, catching a theater full of unsuspecting fans by surprise. The appearance took place during the April 11-13 weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He began by addressing a viral trend that has been widely circulating during screenings of the film.
Black disguised his voice and said, “For today’s presentation of A Minecraft Movie, please no throwing popcorn.” He then suddenly appeared in front of the screen, holding his infamous Minecraft axe.

Black’s popcorn-throwing remark was in reference to a viral trend that had taken theaters by storm since the movie’s release. Videos circulating online show how some fans have been yelling, throwing popcorn and participating in rowdy activity at a specific point in the film when Black’s character exclaims, “chicken jockey!”

The confused crowd needed a few moments to process the unexpected surprise of Jack Black’s presence.
As soon as they realized the actor was actually standing in front of them, the room was filled with shrieks of excitement. Young fans whipped out their phones while jumping up and down with joy and went nuts. Black reverted to using his own voice when he was recognized. He waved his ax around and said, “Look what I brought!!” as fans continued hooting and hollering.

The famous actor walked in front of the screen and out the theater’s side door.
Just before exiting he shouted, “Are we ready to rock?”
“Ladies and gentlemen, please enjoy!” he said before ducking out.
“A Minecraft Movie” has earned $552 million worldwide in tickets in less than two weeks and has become one of the best-performing video game adaptations, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film also stars Jason Momoa and Jennifer Coolidge.
