A historic amusement park ride in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, turned into a nightmare that left a man paralyzed, a North Carolina couple alleges in a lawsuit.
The couple, identified as Gangia Adhikari and her husband Kuru Sannyasi, Family Kingdom Amusement Park On July 23, 2021, we rode the wooden Swamp Fox roller coaster.
“As a result of Defendants’ negligence, carelessness, recklessness, wantonness and recklessness, while riding the roller coaster, Plaintiff’s husband suffered an acute spinal cord injury and became a quadriplegic,” the lawsuit, filed June 20, alleges.

The couple claimed the coaster was “much more dangerous than a normal rollercoaster.”
The lawsuit alleges that Family Kingdom Amusement Park “failed to adequately warn guests” about the dangers the roller coaster posed to riders.
The lawsuit also alleges that the park failed to take precautions to prevent the ride from causing serious injury to patrons.
Lawyer Morgan Martin told The Sun News that Sannyasi was in a “terrible state”.
“he [the roller coaster] “He went from being healthy to now being a quadriplegic,” Martin told the outlet. “It’s a really sad day for this young man who is in a terrible state.”

The sannyasi claimed he had to undergo surgery which required costly medical treatment, hospitalisation and intensive care.

The lawsuit alleges that he requires 24-hour care and suffers from extreme pain, mental distress and depression as a result of his permanent injuries.
According to the complaint, Adhikari is suing for loss of friendship, companionship, assistance, support and association.
