Tribute to Charlie Kirk to Replace Jimmy Kimmel’s Show on ABC Stations

On Friday night, instead of airing Jimmy Kimmel’s suspended show, several ABC stations will broadcast a tribute to Charlie Kirk. Many are wondering how they can watch this special in their area.

This decision comes after Kimmel made a statement that many deemed “inappropriate and deeply insensitive,” particularly at a critical time for the country. Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns a significant number of ABC stations, has taken the lead in airing this tribute.

According to a Sinclair statement, the tribute will take place during Kimmel’s usual time slot across all of their stations, along with others affiliated with ABC. If you’re interested in finding your local station, a search tool is available for that purpose.

For those wanting to catch the tribute, it’s likely scheduled for 11:30 PM EST at most stations. It’s also possible to find tributes on non-Sinclair ABC channels, and you can check specific times and channels at your local station’s website.

For instance, if you’re in Sacramento, the ABC 10 website has a TV listing page which you can check for more details. As of now, there are no tributes listed yet.

Sinclair’s Vice Chairman Jason Smith addressed Kimmel’s comments, expressing that they were “inappropriate and deeply insensitive” given the current environment. He emphasized the duty of broadcasters to foster respectful dialogue within communities.

The company stated they won’t lift Kimmel’s suspension until he issues an apology and makes a meaningful donation to the Kirk family and Turning Point USA. Regardless of ABC’s future plans for Kimmel’s show, Sinclair has made it clear that they will not be returning “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” anytime soon.
