BonAppétit – From Rikers Island.

“I've been to Leica many times,” said the Manhattan Democrat.

“I know you're making some improvements and I find food that is very challenging.”

And she was practically heterologous when she tried to explain that detainees and staff were already being offered a “plant-based diet.”

“I don't want a plant-based version! I want fresh fruits and vegetables!” she cried.

“I want local produce and local meat for the people in detention.”

Doc's annual food budget is $18.8 million, with around 27,000 meals available daily in two different kitchens at Riker. According to officials.

DOC officials were unable to immediately provide estimates to brewers of how much they would spend on average per meal.

But it could be a far cry from the foodie shell of per tax and tips per dinner from farm to table, dinner at Michelin stars, in addition to $145. Blue Hill Restaurant At Greenwich Village.

There, the recent dinner menu included a pheasant stew served with Murazaki sweet potatoes and parsnip raviolo, and concluded the dessert with pickled blueberries, hazelnuts, white chocolate and beer ice cream.

Doc officials said they support the concept of providing healthy “farm-to-table” meals to detainees. Brewer recently said the state has begun offering it at Upstate Prisons – but it's simply too expensive.

“It's my intention to revisit our menu…and like you, I believe in the farm-to-table concept,” said James Saunders, Doc's deputy committee member of Health Affairs.

“You and I also know how expensive it is and how necessary it is to stay within budget as a city government.”

Councillor Vickie Paladino (R-Brooklyn) is largely banned when he hears Brewer's proposal.

“I wish our veterans were given food from the farm to the table,” she said.

“I think the guy who burned a woman on the subway is at Rikers now,” Palladino added. He mentioned Guatemala National Sebastian Zapetta Khalil, an illegal immigrant who committed a fatal arson attack on the Coney Island F train in December.

“We're worried about the food from the farm to the table and are going to make sure they're feeding? This is ridiculous.”
