NYC crossing guard charged with attempted rape after believing he was luring 14-year-old girl into sex

A police officer at a Queens intersection tried to seduce what he thought was a 14-year-old girl into sex, but authorities say the girl turned out to be an undercover cop and was arrested this week. .

“Have you ever had sex? Well, if you try it with me, I’m sure you’ll find it seductive,” Jared Geridor, 24, said, according to a disturbing criminal complaint. On April 18th, he sent a message on Instagram to an undercover police officer posing as a teenager.

The Queens District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that investigators conducted a sting operation after minors filed complaints against the crooked NYPD officer, who worked a block away from York Early College Academy in south Jamaica. announced that it had started.

The undercover agent, who was posing as a teenager, met Geridon on March 18 on the street corner where she worked, and a few weeks later they exchanged Instagram handles, according to the complaint.

Prosecutors say the creepy railroad crossing guard wrote in a message, “Thank you for letting me be the friendliest school crossing guard on the planet.”

“Your secret is safe with me. I can’t wait for Tuesday,” he wrote in another email, referring to her age and upcoming hotel stay.

But when Geridor knocked on the door at the Best Western Jamaica Inn on Tuesday, police met him and found three condoms on him, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.

The accused pedophile was charged Wednesday with attempted rape, attempting to use a child in a sexual performance, and numerous other charges.

“Young people need to be able to trust the adults who are responsible for keeping them safe,” Katz said in a statement.

“This defendant is accused of breaching a relationship of trust with someone he believed to be a teenager.”

Gerodore was suspended from the NYPD after his arrest and has since resigned, a police spokesperson told the Post.

The next court date is set for June 7th.
