A high school in Brooklyn, New York, recently switched its students to remote classes to protect 2,000 migrants who were evacuated from tent shelters due to heavy rains.

But residents and parents were unhappy with the move, according to the New York Post. new york post.
The locals called themselves as Rob said. “This is a litmus test. They're using a legitimate situation with a storm to try this out. I guarantee you they'll be here all summer.
“There are 1,900 people thrown into a neighborhood half a block away from where I live, and I don't know who they are,” he said.
“They're not vetted. A lot of them have criminal records and backgrounds, and we don't even know that.”
One mother, named Michelle, drove the migrants away when the bus arrived at the school around 6 p.m. in the pouring rain.
“How are you feeling? Are you feeling good?” one woman, who identified herself only as Michelle, shouted at the bus.
“How does it feel to get all the kids out of school tomorrow? Does it feel good? I hope you feel better. I hope you sleep well tonight!”
The migrants returned to the scene by bus at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday after spending the night at James Madison High School.
According to CBS 2, city officials said they would never use James Madison as an immigrant shelter again.
New York City Emergency Management Commissioner Zach Iskol said authorities acted “out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety and well-being of those who work and live at the center.”
Last September, New York City admitted 95,000 immigrants, twice as many as Houston, Texas, Miami-Dade County, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, after Title 42 was lifted in May. Under Title 42, border officials were authorized to immediately turn away illegal immigrants in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
