A New York City teacher was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of exposing his penis in front of students and inserting it into a Lysol container at a Bronx school, police and law enforcement said.
Dana Barschdorf, 44, an educator with the city Department of Education, was at work at the PS 723 building at 1455 Webster Ave., which serves students with autism in kindergarten through fourth grade, at 8 a.m. Around 45 minutes later, he was charged with two counts of attempted indecency for causing a nuisance. said the police officer.
The teacher was reassigned pending an investigation into the allegations, DOE officials said.
“This alleged behavior is completely unacceptable,” a DOE spokesperson said in an email.
Police said Barschdorff was reported to authorities by another employee.
Efforts to reach him immediately Tuesday night were unsuccessful, but a LinkedIn profile with the same name listed him as a special education teacher.
No further information about Barschdorf was provided by the DOE.
According to SeeThroughNY data, the alleged pervert was making nearly $100,000 a year in 2024.
