The New York Police Department is searching for a hateful suspect who yelled anti-Semitic slurs at a 65-year-old man on the Upper East Side last month and spat in the victim's face.
Police said in a Tuesday statement that the suspect approached a man around 4:10 p.m. on July 27 near Fifth Avenue and East 68th Street and made hateful comments.
Authorities said the unknown individual then ripped off the victim's face mask and spat in his face before fleeing on foot toward Madison Avenue.
The New York Police Department is investigating the incident as a hate crime.
Footage of the suspect released by authorities shows a man wearing a black hat and sunglasses walking down the sidewalk, carrying several bags and two water bottles around his neck.
At the time of the crime, he was wearing black trousers and a colourful shirt.
Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA.
