Oakland thieves drag stolen ATM after bank robbery

They certainly weren't unremarkable.

Wild video shows the moment Auckland robbers pull an entire bank ATM out of the ground, attach it to the back of a van with a rope, and drive down the road at breakneck speed, dragging the metal machine with it, sending sparks into the air. . .

The footage was taken by an eyewitness who couldn't believe his eyes. According to KTVUgot the clip.

Two ATMS, including one that was dragged into a van, were stolen Sunday from separate locations in a California city suffering from a rise in property crimes, Oakland police said.

Police say the cash machine seen in the video was stolen just before 7:30 a.m. from outside the Bank of America on Hegenberger Street.

Police said “multiple individuals” used tools to make off with the ATM, as shown in the video.

A witness who filmed the brutal robbery told KTVU that he saw three or four people involved in the theft.

The other ATM was stolen about an hour earlier from a nearby store on Alameda Street, police said.

Oakland police announced Tuesday that they have arrested a suspect in connection with the Bank of America robbery.

Police took Anthony Pearson into custody on the day of the theft, but are continuing to search for other perpetrators.
