Two ATMS, including one that was dragged into a van, were stolen Sunday from separate locations in a California city suffering from a rise in property crimes, Oakland police said.
Police say the cash machine seen in the video was stolen just before 7:30 a.m. from outside the Bank of America on Hegenberger Street.
Police said “multiple individuals” used tools to make off with the ATM, as shown in the video.
A witness who filmed the brutal robbery told KTVU that he saw three or four people involved in the theft.
The other ATM was stolen about an hour earlier from a nearby store on Alameda Street, police said.
Oakland police announced Tuesday that they have arrested a suspect in connection with the Bank of America robbery.
Police took Anthony Pearson into custody on the day of the theft, but are continuing to search for other perpetrators.
