‘Of Course’ Harris Only Wants Abortion Up to Viability, But She Dodged on Restrictions She’d Support

On Tuesday's broadcast of CNN's “The Source,” host Kaitlan Collins said that “of course” Vice President Kamala Harris, a potential 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, “is a candidate for the White House.” Roe v. Wade Harris later declined to say what kind of restrictions she would support, but said that if enshrined in law, they would be extended to about 24 weeks, which is the length of time a person can survive.

While discussing the IVF plan, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) said, “Most Republicans I know support IVF, but they don't support radical proposals like the one Kamala Harris is running on, like the abortion issue. Harris wants a national abortion law that would require all states to allow partial-birth abortions up until the moment of birth and to deny life-saving care to any children born as a result of a botched abortion. That's what's really radical.”

“Of course, you know, she was Roe v. Wade “It will be about 24 weeks before it becomes law and viable,” Collins concluded the interview.

Cotton interjected: “All I know is that she won't answer any of those questions. She won't answer the question of what month is the right time to reasonably protect the rights of the unborn child? The eighth month? The ninth month? She won't answer any of those questions, Kaitlan, because she knows that her extreme views on those issues are out of sync with the American people.”

When Cotton said Harris wouldn't answer the question, Collins replied, “Exactly,” adding, “Senator Tom Cotton, when she didn't answer that question, Donald Trump didn't say on the debate stage whether he would veto a national abortion ban.”
