Suspicion in Teen’s Murder Sparks Controversial Skywriting
Shortly after D4vd, a singer, was arrested on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a curious message appeared in the Coachella sky: “Celeste is a liar.”
It’s still unclear who orchestrated this aerial display, and authorities haven’t confirmed any link to the current murder investigation.
The timing, though, has ignited a flurry of speculation online.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was apprehended by Los Angeles police at the Hollywood Hills residence where he had been staying.
According to police reports, he was arrested by the Robbery and Homicide Unit and is currently being held without bail.
Videos from the scene captured Burke being handcuffed and led away from the home.
He had been out of the public eye for several months prior to his arrest.
The LAPD confirmed Burke’s arrest in an official statement, noting, “Detectives arrested David Burke, 21, of Los Angeles, on suspicion of the murder of Celeste Rivas. He is being held without bail.”
They also mentioned that the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review on Monday.
Moreover, authorities revealed that a grand jury investigation into the situation commenced in February 2026, and Burke was identified as a focus during that process.
As for the skywriting, which stated, “Celeste is a liar,” investigators have not claimed any specific individual or organization is behind it, nor is it confirmed to be connected to this case. For now, the events surrounding both the murder and the aerial message remain tangled in mystery and ongoing investigation.
