Offset Sentenced to Probation in Assault Case

A judge in California has reportedly sentenced Offset to 12 months of probation related to an assault on a security guard at a cannabis store. Court documents indicate that he is also required to avoid the dispensary where the incident allegedly occurred in March 2025. Furthermore, he must refrain from making threats against anyone and cannot possess any weapons, as reported by TMZ.

In addition to probation, Offset will be required to make an unspecified monetary restitution, perform community service, and complete an anger management course, according to the same source.

The rapper faced charges after an altercation with security guard Jim Sanchez at MedMen LAX. Sanchez claimed that Offset became aggressive when asked for identification, alleging that the rapper struck him and prompted others to join in the attack. He reported sustaining injuries severe enough to necessitate hospitalization.

Offset, however, has denied these accusations, asserting that Sanchez spat on him, an act which, he contends, escalated the confrontation.

If Offset fulfills the conditions set out in the diversion program, the criminal charge he faces will be dismissed, according to Complex. Nonetheless, he is still dealing with a civil lawsuit stemming from this incident, as Sanchez filed a suit in October 2025, citing assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The lawsuit claims that Offset was “hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked” Sanchez after the request for ID. Sanchez alleges he has endured significant neck pain and headaches due to the actions taken by Offset and his associates, who reportedly “grabbed, pushed, and further assaulted” him.

In response to the lawsuit, Offset contended that Sanchez was at fault for how he handled the situation, indicating that some of the actions he complained about were provoked by his own behavior.
