CBS Sports He reported that he appeared to have hit his hand on a Longhorns player's helmet, causing a knot in his hand.
Social media was abuzz about this strange-looking injury as the lump appeared to be getting larger.
ESPN side reporter Holly Rowe said on the broadcast that Howard did not receive treatment for the lump during the game. After the Ohio State win, ESPN's Jake Trotter reported that Howard said his hand was “perfectly fine.”

Howard completed 24 of 33 passes for 289 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Howard, in his first season with the Buckeyes after entering the transfer portal last season, gave Ohio State a chance to win its first national title in more than a decade.
