One person has been arrested after a dramatic confrontation between NYPD officers and migrants was captured on video at a tent city on Randall’s Island.
The disturbance began Thursday when officials asked an unnamed person who was not supposed to be at the facility to leave, authorities said.
It’s unclear why they were there or what led to the scuffle.
A person wearing a white T-shirt and black pants can be seen sparring with several police officers as a large crowd watches. video of the incident.
Some onlookers eventually joined the fray, even nailing a female officer in the head with a backpack before the suspect was subdued and handcuffed.
Police said no one was hospitalized after the altercation.
Investigation is ongoing.
