One man on his grief for Gaza – podcast | News

Early morning on October 22, 2023, a journalist living in London. Ahmed Arnauk I sent a message to my family's WhatsApp group to check on them. No one responded.

“Normally when I go to sleep, I go into a deep, deep, deep sleep. But that night, I woke up suddenly at 4 or 5 a.m. I don't remember exactly, but it was still dawn. I was having a panic attack. My heart was beating very fast.

“I checked my phone and so many people were messaging me on WhatsApp and deleting it, so I could see it was delete, delete, delete. I thought he was sending me a message.”

He called one of his friends and told him that an Israeli bomb had hit his family home in Deir El Bala, Gaza. Twenty-one members of Ahmed's family were killed.

Ahmed is a journalist; we are not numbersplatforming the stories of people living in Gaza. He was inspired to found the organization after his brother died in the 2014 war.

“Enough of death. Enough of suffering. Enough of war. Enough of siege. I want them to be free. We all have the right to be free.”

These are the names of Mr. Ahmed's family who passed away on October 22, 2023: Nasri al-Nauk (75 years old), Wala Alazaizi (36 years old), Raghd Alazaizi (13 years old), Eslam Alazaizi (12 years old) ), Sara Alazarizi (9 years old), Abdullah Alazarizi (6 years old), Muhammad Al-Nauk (35 years old) Bakr Al-Nauk, 11, Bassema Al-Nauk, 9, Alaa Salman, 35, Eslam Salman, 13, Dima・Salman, 12, Tara Salman, 8, Noor Salman, 4, Nasma Salman, 2, Aya Bashir, 33, Malak Bashir, 12, Mohamed Bashir, 9, Tamim Bashir, 6, Mahmoud – Arnauk, 25 years old, Ali al-Kilinawi, 33 years old.
