A coalition of Christians, Jews, and individuals of other faiths gathered Monday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack on Israel and to support the world's only Jewish state. unite for the sake of The “Remembering October 7th Standing with Israel” rally will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on the National Mall in the East and will be hosted by American Christian Leaders for Israel (ACLI), Generation Zion, and the Philos Project. Monday marks the one-year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel that killed more than 1,200 people and took about 200 hostages. It was the worst attack on the Jewish community since the Holocaust.
ACLI He described the gathering as a “united effort of all those who love Israel.”

“This is not a political issue. This is a human issue,” said Luke Moon, executive director of the Philos Project. “The courage shown on October 7th is a powerful reminder that even in the face of darkness, humanity has the power to stand up for what is right. We invite you to join us in honoring the heroes of the United States and the hostages of Gaza.”
The gathering comes as the war in Gaza continues and Israel considers its next steps against both Iran and Hezbollah, a terrorist group based in Lebanon across Israel's northern border.
This week, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei praised Hamas's “logical and legal” attack on Israel in 2023. Khamenei also vowed to destroy Israel.
“Resistance forces in the region will not be deterred by these martyrdoms and will prevail,” Khamenei told thousands of supporters in Iran, according to the Times of Israel. “Israel will never defeat Hamas and Hezbollah.”
Khamenei said Israel “will not last long.”
Khamenei's threat came days after Iran attacked Israel with nearly 200 ballistic missiles, most of which were intercepted.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded: “Iran made a big mistake…and will definitely pay the price.”
