On Wednesday night, fans carrying “Liberation Palestine” flags were chased out of Camden Yards during the Baltimore Orioles game against the Cleveland Guardians.

Video from Baltimore Sun reporter Jacob Calvin Mayer showed the moment security at Camden Yards walked to the seats near the field behind home plate and ordered fans to leave.

Three fans were seen, two of them waving flags, walking up the stairs, and before the video ends, the fans begin booing and heckling the protesters.

The Orioles released a statement: The Baltimore Sun.

“An individual was removed from the stadium for displaying a political sign in violation of our rules, for not being seated in their ticketed seat and for (inciting) fans around them,” the statement said.

The Orioles allow signage at Camden Yards, but stadium rules state that signs cannot have “commercial, political or tasteless content, as determined by the Orioles’ discretion.”

“The Orioles reserve the right to remove any banners at any time and anyone involved will be subject to ejection,” the policy states.

This is not the first time that the “Liberation of Palestine” movement has been seen at a sporting event, but the 2022 Qatar World Cup comes to mind, when fans were seen holding large banners spanning multiple sections during the Group A match between the Netherlands and Qatar.

This is just one example of the “Liberate Palestine” signs and flags displayed at soccer matches.

As the conflict between Israel and Hamas escalates, the United States has seen many protests, especially on college campuses.
