During an appearance on Fox Business Network’s Morning with Maria, former President Donald Trump stated his intention to hold China accountable for its oil purchases from Russia, particularly in relation to India’s purchasing decisions.
Maria Bartiromo questioned whether Trump would truly hold China responsible given the intertwined supply chains, especially since China is heavily involved in acquiring Russian oil and gas. She also asked about his strategy regarding India’s oil transactions with Russia.
“That’s the goal, and we recognize it’s crucial. Right now, it’s vital to distance ourselves from China regarding critical and rare earth minerals. That’s a key aspect of these trade discussions. Trump emphasized that historically, Russia and China are seen as natural adversaries, and he aims to prevent a closer alignment between them under Biden’s administration,” Trump remarked, adding that China is substantially importing oil every day.
