Pakistan’s foreign minister indicated that his country would consider stepping back if India agrees to halt its attacks. In a recent escalation, the two nations exchanged fire last month due to a series of violent incidents attributed to Pakistan. Foreign Minister Ishak Dal warned that Pakistan would continue its responses if India initiated strikes.
Dal shared his concerns with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, hoping for a resolution. He mentioned, “Our patience has reached that limit, so we answered. If they stop here, we will consider stopping too.”
Meanwhile, Rubio urged the need for both sides to find ways to communicate directly to avoid further conflicts, reinforcing the US’s support for a constructive dialogue.
On the ground, India accused Pakistan of targeting air bases and civilian sites in Punjab with missiles. Pakistan countered that it intercepted many of these missiles and conducted retaliatory strikes. An Indian Colonel reported that Pakistan had aimed at medical facilities and schools in areas under Indian control.
Indian military officials asserted their readiness to respond decisively to Pakistan’s actions, noting detected movements of Pakistani ground forces that suggested further aggression. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh stated that India’s military remains prepared while emphasizing the intention to only target military sites in response to provocation.
The Pakistani military claimed to have utilized medium-range missiles against Indian military installations in several cities, asserting that their air capabilities remain secure despite the escalating tensions.
