Teen’s Parents File Lawsuit After Fatal School Incident

The family of a California teen who tragically lost his life in a school pick-up and drop-off zone is now taking legal action.

In June, 15-year-old Cosmo Silverman was navigating between vehicles at Campbell Hall in Studio City, California, when a driver of a green Rivian seemingly accelerated, becoming trapped between the cars and triggering a series of collisions.

The young boy was quickly transported to a hospital, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The circumstances surrounding the driver’s actions remain unclear, and several witnesses were present, including Silverman’s father.

The Silverman family is pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit, claiming “gross negligence and systemic deficiencies in supervision and campus safety.” They argue that necessary safety measures were only put in place after their son’s tragic passing.

Robert Glassman, the family’s attorney, remarked on the extensive investigation into this devastating incident, stating, “Unfortunately, what we discovered is that the design of this parking lot was actually very dangerous and did not comply with California standards and regulations.”

Reports indicate that six individuals sustained injuries during the event, three of whom were minors. The newspaper has reached out to the school for feedback and is currently awaiting their response.
