According to police sources, a convicted rapist was taken into custody after reportedly assaulting his unconscious mother on Randall’s Island on Friday.
The man, who was on parole for a previous rape conviction, wore an ankle monitor at the time of the attack, according to reports.
He allegedly confronted his mother, identified as Diana Agudero, while she was walking along East 125th Street around 11:30 PM, despite living in a shelter on Randall’s Island.
After the assault, the suspect called 911 and fled the scene, which is a bit puzzling, don’t you think?
Agudelo suffered serious injuries, including a facial fracture and a cracked skull. NYPD chief Joseph Kenny remarked that it was “one of the worst assaults I’ve ever seen.”
She was promptly taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in a critical and unresponsive condition.
This man had previously been convicted of rape in 2013, leading to a 12-year sentence in the Bronx, as documented in prison records.
