More than 100 passengers were evacuated after an American Airlines plane set fire while sitting at the gates of Denver International Airport in Colorado.
in statement For Fox31 News, American Airlines explained that the plane “experienced engine-related issues” after American Airlines' Flight 1006 landed “safely” and became a taxi at the gate.
The airline added that “172 customers and six crew members have disappeared,” and that “were moved to the terminal.”
“After landing safely and directing us to the gates of Denver International Airport (den), American Airlines flights experienced engine-related issues,” the airline said in a statement to the outlet. “172 customers and six crew members are running out and moving to the terminal. The crew, the Den team and first responders are grateful for the prompt and decisive action, with safety on board and on the ground as a priority.”
video Posted X saw black smoke and flames from the plane, allowing people to see them walking away from it.
In another one videopassengers could see them standing on the wings of the plane.
The outlet noted that American Airlines Flight 1006 had left “from Colorado Springs Airport” and said it was “repurposed to DIA” while heading towards Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
