Patel responds to ‘internet anarchists’ amid examination of agency jet usage

FBI Director Defends Use of Government Jet

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed backlash over his use of a government aircraft after it was reported he used the plane to attend a performance by his girlfriend, country musician Alexis Wilkins, in Pennsylvania.

According to a recent magazine report, flight-tracking data indicated that an FBI-registered plane flew to State College, Pennsylvania, coinciding with Wilkins’ appearance at a wrestling event.

In a lengthy post, Patel expressed his feelings on social media, particularly following the dismissal of a senior FBI official under contentious circumstances. “Let me be clear,” he wrote. “We will not be fooled by unsubstantiated rumors or noise from ignorant internet anarchists and fake news.” He also affirmed his pride in the FBI’s work.

Patel further remarked, “I’ve always said, criticize me all you want, but attacking those doing great work—including my personal life or those around me—is completely disgraceful.” He emphasized the unfounded nature of the attacks on Wilkins, whom he described as a “true patriot” and “rock-solid conservative.” He added, “I am truly blessed to have her in my life.”

He assured stakeholders that both he and the FBI remain committed to their mission. “And to our allies who are supposed to be silent—your silence is louder than those who hate clickbait,” Patel mentioned.

Critics, including former FBI agent Kyle Serafin, highlighted Patel’s use of a government plane for personal reasons. Notably, there are comments from 2023 where Patel criticized the previous FBI Director, Christopher Wray, for similar plane use.

Additional reports revealed that Stephen Palmer, a 27-year veteran of the FBI and head of its aviation division, was ousted amid the ongoing controversies surrounding plane usage.

Although Patel is a firm ally of Trump, he has frequently faced criticism during his time as FBI director. Some have criticized his response to the manhunt for the shooter of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and have raised concerns about his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, calling for greater transparency.
