Bet-David’s Comments on Israel and Iran
Podcaster Patrick Bet-David mentioned that Israel should have a presence of up to three soldiers for every American soldier in Iran. This statement came during a discussion on the Iran conflict as President Donald Trump announced the deployment of additional ground forces and marines to the Persian Gulf.
During the PBD Podcast, Bet-David shared his intentions on what to convey to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He highlighted the need for equitable military presence, stating, “If I send a player, you have to send a player. If you don’t send a player, I don’t send a player.” He emphasized that it should not be a one-on-one situation but rather a two-on-one or three-on-one arrangement, indicating that it would be more beneficial for Israel.
The U.S. and Israel initiated Operation Epic Fury on February 28, aiming to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions after failed negotiations. Some have criticized Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s comments at a March 2 press conference, suggesting that Israel might be exploiting the United States.
The Israeli military has targeted sites linked to Iran’s nuclear capabilities amid ongoing hostilities. Rubio stated awareness of Israel’s likely actions and acknowledged the potential risks to U.S. forces, noting more casualties could result if proactive measures weren’t taken.
In the lead-up to the conflict, the then-Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei had issued threats against President Trump on social media. Following Khamenei’s death, Trump addressed the situation publicly.
The situation has also led to internal disputes among Trump supporters regarding the urgency of the Iranian threat, with some figures, like former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent, asserting that it is not immediate.
