A new poll shows Vice President Harris holding a narrow lead over former President Trump in the battleground state of Pennsylvania. vote Monmouth University made the announcement Wednesday.
The data showed that 40% of Keystone State voters said they would definitely vote for Harris, compared with 38% who said the same for Trump. Eight percent said they would probably vote for the vice president, and 7% said they would probably vote for the former president, according to the poll.
Meanwhile, the data showed 44% said they would definitely not vote for Harris, while 46% said they would definitely not vote for Trump.
The survey, conducted Sept. 19-23, also found that inflation is the top issue in this election for 62% of voters, followed by economic growth at 45%, abortion at 40% and immigration at 38%. Eleven percent of respondents said crime was one of their top two issues.
Among the 18% of voters who cited inflation and economic growth as their two top issues, 50% supported Trump and 36% supported Harris, according to the data.
Pennsylvanians appear divided on whether they trust Harris or Trump to deal with the issue of economic growth, with 51% saying they trust Trump and 48% choosing Harris, according to the poll.
On immigration, 54% of voters in the state chose Trump compared to 44% for Harris.
Among voters who oppose abortion, Harris leads Trump, 57 percent to 39 percent.
When asked whether they viewed Harris or Trump very favorably, the poll found that they were tied at 34%, while 11% said they viewed Trump somewhat favorably and 15% said they viewed Harris favorably.
Forty-two percent of people have a very unfavorable view of Harris, while 47% have an unfavorable view of Trump.
The Monmouth University Poll randomly sampled 654 eligible Pennsylvania voters. Interviews were conducted in English via telephone, live phone interviews, and online surveys. We are 95 percent confident that the margin of error attributable to sampling is at most plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
