PGA Comes Up With Absolutely Brilliant Idea To Combat One Of Fan’s Biggest Complaints

The PGA couldn’t have handled this situation any better! Perfect!

When it comes to the modern-day PGA Tour, there’s plenty to complain about.

The biggest complaint is probably the negotiations going on between the PGA and Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which could possibly bring a merger between the Tour and LIV Golf. When it comes to the actual play on the course, however, it’s certainly the incredibly slow pace that’s been going on this season.

Well, the pace-of-play issue has gotten to the headquarters of the PGA Tour, and they’re making an absolutely brilliant move to combat it. (RELATED: Aldrich Potgieter Hits What Easily Has To Be One Of Worst Shots Ever In History Of Golf)

While speaking at his yearly press conference prior to The Players Championship, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said in his opening remarks that the PGA will start to share “speed-of-play related statistics” later in the 2025 campaign. Monahan particularly brought up April 14, which is the day following the completion of the Masters.

“We’ve committed to addressing the speed of play. To that end, I’m excited to formally announce these recommendations from our player-led speed-of-play working group: We will begin publishing speed-of-play-related statistics later this season,” said Monahan.

“We will also begin testing a new speed-of-play policy on the Korn Ferry TOUR and PGA TOUR Americas, beginning next month on April 14th specifically, which will include assessing penalty strokes for slow play.”

Round of applause for the PGA! Great move!
