Mickelson Critiques Biden Administration on “No Kings Day”
Golf icon Phil Mickelson took to social media on Saturday to make a statement related to “No Kings Day,” gently calling out actions from former President Joe Biden’s time in office.
Mickelson pointed out that Biden had used an autopen for pardons and expressed discontent with earlier policies aimed at illegal immigration. He shared his thoughts in a post on X, where he said, “On this special day, as we all come together to fight against blanket amnesty, executive orders, illegal acts, and the stealing of citizens’ resources for illegal non-citizens, we believe it worked!! Well done everyone, because that is no longer happening.”
He’s known to be a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump and often shares posts that align with conservative values.
Across the United States, millions participated in the nationwide “No Kings” protests on Saturday.
By around 10:30 a.m. ET, gatherings had started at significant spots like Times Square and the National Mall in Washington, D.C. By noon, the crowds were swelling in various locations including Carrollton, Texas, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Arlington, Virginia. Even the U.S. Embassy in London saw supporters.
In Virginia, Governor Glenn Youngkin rallied residents, working to ensure there was no confusion regarding the events taking place.
Republicans have suggested that this protest is just a tactic to distract from ongoing issues in government, especially the push for a government shutdown. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) expressed hope that after these demonstrations, Democratic leaders might be more open to the Republican strategy, though he didn’t appear overly optimistic about it.
