Pilot’s wife safely lands plane in California after her husband suffers medical emergency during flight

Officials said the pilot's wife, who suffered a medical emergency mid-flight, took over control and was able to land the plane safely in California.

Elliott Alper, 78, a real estate agent, was flying a twin-engine Beechcraft King Air 90 with his wife, Yvonne Kinnan Wells, on a trip from Henderson, Nevada, to Monterey, California, on October 4. However, due to the following symptoms, he became unable to move. The Kern County Fire Department said it was a medical emergency. Las Vegas Review Journal.

Kinen-Wells took over control of the plane and, with the help of air traffic controllers, successfully landed it at Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield, California, the newspaper said.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane made an emergency landing around 1:40 p.m.

Alper, the founder of real estate companies Spacefinders and Ramrod Realty, was rushed to a hospital after the plane landed, where he later died. No other injuries were reported.

According to a report by the US Federal Aviation Administration, one flight crew member was killed in the crash, and only one other person was on board.

According to the Kern County Fire Department, dispatchers were informed that the co-pilot was scheduled to take over the landing.

Emergency vehicles followed the runway and encountered the stopped aircraft.

Alper and Kinnan Wells were married in February. Alper's father, Irby Alper, was an avid pilot.
