PK Subban faces backlash online for his outfit during Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage

Jason Day’s Masters Attire Consideration

When you think of legendary sports broadcasters, names like Howard Cosell, John Madden, and Bob Costas probably pop into your head. They were pros—truly the cream of the crop. And, let’s be honest, they dressed for success.

If you’re aiming to be taken seriously in sports broadcasting, wearing a suit and tie feels almost essential. But, strangely enough, that standard seems to not apply to everyone.

Take ESPN’s PK Subban, for example. Despite it being common knowledge about wardrobe expectations, he recently showcased yet another audacious outfit during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. People are familiar with his, shall we say, eclectic fashion sense, and this time was no different.

Just a few weeks back, he wore something that could easily be reminiscent of John Travolta in “Saturday Night Fever.” Yes, those pants truly stood out. Subban embraced the bold look, and, not surprisingly, it caught the internet’s attention.

Honestly, the amount of satin he seems to wear… it’s quite something. I mean, I started this piece by emphasizing that respect in this industry usually comes from dressing appropriately, yet here’s Subban, confidently pulling off a style that’s all his own.

Sure, he’s received some criticism online, but in person, he looks pretty good. There’s something about his on-ice persona—always pushing boundaries—that reflects in his clothing choices as well.

Of course, he’s not quite in the same league as Henrik Lundqvist when it comes to suit game, which is a whole different level. Still, you’ve got to admire Subban for being unapologetically himself.

Best of luck to you, PK!
