The NYPD detective, who went viral earlier this month due to a sultry pole dance performance in a hip-hop music video, was quietly transferred to another Bronx area.
det. Melissa Mercado was reassigned to Kingsborough's 50th school district on March 14 from a special victim squad post, police records show.
The change in Mercado's commander comes after the standout star of rapper S-Quire's “Doin That” video, drawn from an active case of a special victim in the Bronx, when the NYPD reviewed her actions.
“I think there's something going on about dealing with police officers,” NYPD Special Victims Director Michael Osgood told the Post at the time.
“If you're a special victim detective, I think it's morally wrong.”
The Grade 3 detective pulled $144,000 a year with her post, but that didn't stop her from playing in the music video as part of an obvious side hustle.
“None of us knew what her main occupation was…,” Music Video Director Pitch Perfect told TMZ.
The director added that the production team hired Curve police officers through the casting agency. And they had requests to get the best detectives in filming from other musicians.
“I reached out to a lot of artists to get her on their videos,” Pitch Perfect told the outlet.
