Police in the western Pennsylvania town have launched a search for a man accused of “targeting” the home of President Donald Trump's supporters.
Pennsylvanian man “targets” a home with flags, signs and banners showing President Trump's support.
“He appears to be targeting people with Trump flags and banners. He's just driving and when he sees it, it pulls him apart.”
The first act against Trump supporters reportedly occurred in October 2024 at a home that had raised the Trump flag.
Aspinwall Police Chief David Nemek told Pittsburgh WTAE-TV“He went to residents carrying the Trump flag, parked in the middle of the road, left, walked up to the sidewalk, and began screaming flag indecency at home.”
The homeowner claimed that the suspect spewed him vulgar insults and slammed the Trump flag hanging from his home. Homeowners believe the incident is politically motivated.
Nemec Chief noted that what appears to be the same suspect targeted another home on March 14 with the Trump flag.
“What appears to be the same individual, he went to another residence, this time walking on the porch, opening the door, actually spitting out onto the door itself, on the camera, then turning and walking out of the porch,” explained Nemek.
The homeowner in the incident said her 19-year-old son had left to stand up to the man, but he had already fled the scene.
Aspinwall Police Station Share A Facebook post from Aspinwall Mayor Joe Noro includes a photo of the suspect and a video of the man spitting out at the front door of the house.
“We're trying to find this individual in need of help from all police departments in western Pennsylvania,” Noro said. “We ran this person through facial identification without any consequences.”
Noro noted that investigators checked traffic cameras to identify the suspect, but their efforts failed.
Mayor Noro urged anyone with information about the suspect to contact Aspinwall Police Station.
Nemec said Pittsburgh Tribune Review“It appears he's targeting people who have Trump flags and banners. He's just driving and when he sees it, it pulls him apart.”
“Our main thing is the safety of this community. Things like this don't really happen around here, so we don't want to see them doing this because it happened again,” Nemec said.
Aspinwall Councillor Lu Crucio told the news outlet: “Our goal is to keep Aspinwall and our residents safe. There is no tolerance for this type of action. We know that Mayor Noro, Prime Minister Nemec and Deputy Chief Biss are working hard to find suspects.”
Police said they were worried that copycat crimes could be committed.
Police said the suspect could face disorderly conduct and trespass charges.
