An Ohio police officer’s compassionate act for a postpartum mother and her child has gone viral on Facebook after being caught on body camera footage.
According to a Facebook post from the Miami Township Police Department, Corporal Hunter Willoughby responded to a “frantic call.”
According to the Facebook post, the call came from “a postpartum mother who was unable to breastfeed her one-week old baby. Corporal Willoughby sprang into action and alerted a Meijer employee who assisted her (the store was closed at the time).”

“Personally purchased by Corporal Willoughby[d] According to the Facebook post, he prepared some formula and bottles for the mother and delivered them to the grateful mother, but refused to accept any payment for the formula or bottles.

In the video, Corporal Willoughby is seen selecting formula from the shelves at a Myer store, and when an employee suggests he also buy a bottle for the baby, the corporal says, “Great idea!”

“This is what the world needs more of. Hats off to him today,” said a commenter named Kelsey Corcoran.

In a Facebook post, Chief Mike Mills shared, “You don’t often hear about all the things our police officers do while on duty, but I do – and this is an example of the Miami Township way.”
The body camera video currently has more than 6,000 likes on Facebook.
