Pope Francis, 88, has had a peaceful night and is resting after a breathing crisis, the Vatican said Saturday.
Francis had an isolated breathing crisis Friday that required non-invasive mechanical ventilation, the Vatican said. He experienced bronchospasm, resulting in episodes of vomiting and inhalation. He then began non-invasive ventilation and was responsive.
The Pope remains conscious and vigilant.

Francis was admitted to the hospital on February 14th after a week-long bronchitis match worsened. The doctor first diagnosed the development of complex viral, bacterial, and fungal respiratory infections, and subsequently pneumonia in both lungs.
