Golf Outing and Travel Updates
My annual golf trip to Northern Michigan is just around the corner, and I’m really hoping this weekend holds up— the weather looks fantastic. September’s forecast seems a bit iffy, but I’m determined to stay optimistic. August was quite hectic for me in terms of blogging, so let’s dive into what’s been happening.
If you’ve been tuned into the travel scene at all, you might have caught wind that Amex is about to roll out significant changes to its platinum card lineup. But what exactly does this mean? Chris has some predictions on those looming new fees.
Covid seems to be making a comeback in the U.S. Not as severe as during the height of the pandemic, yet it remains a serious concern—especially for those with health vulnerabilities. Interestingly, the virus spreads more readily on cruise ships, so it’s advisable to get tested beforehand. I wonder if others feel the same way I do about this, as seen in the comments here.
You might not typically associate “best” with Holiday Inn Express, but I recently discovered one location that defies that notion. It’s not a brand-new hotel, yet it feels fresh and boasts breathtaking views. If you’re in the area, this place is worth checking out.
On a brighter note this week, there’s promising news from Delta regarding their 2027 medallion MQD levels. They’re not as daunting as they could be, making airline status seem more attainable.
If you’re traveling this holiday weekend, stay safe and be aware of your surroundings. Thanks for reading, and I appreciate your support on this blogging journey! – Rene
