President Biden criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

In an interview with Spanish-language broadcaster Univision, President Biden harshly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for promoting a war between Israel and Hamas.

“I think what he’s doing is wrong,” Biden said in an hour-long interview scheduled to air Tuesday night about whether Israel’s leader cares more about political survival than the interests of his people. Ta. “I don’t agree with his approach.”

According to media reports, the interview between Biden and Enrique Acevedo was recorded last Wednesday.

Israel has come under increasing criticism for its military offensive in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip following the terrorist group’s deadly attack on October 7.

Contempt has been growing after an Israeli airstrike killed several World Central Kitchen employees in the Gaza Strip. Israel claimed the attack was a mistake and that WCK vehicles were not targeted.

Democrats are also calling on Biden to withhold arms from Israel unless he takes all possible steps to limit civilian casualties on the battlefield. Last month, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D.N.Y.) called on Israel to hold new elections.

In the interview, Biden called on Israel to work toward a ceasefire.

“So what I’m asking is for the Israelis to just call for a ceasefire and allow full access to all food and medicine coming into the country for the next six to eight weeks,” he said.

Biden added: “I’ve talked to everyone from Saudis to Jordanians to Egyptians. They’re ready to move.” “They’re ready to move this food, and I don’t think there’s any excuse not to meet the medical and food needs of those people. We should do it now.”

Biden’s criticism comes as progressives urge voters to cast so-called “protest votes” rather than support him. Many of these progressives accuse Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Tuesday there is no evidence that Israel was involved in the genocide.

“There is no evidence that genocide was caused. To my knowledge, there is no evidence of that,” Austin told Republican Sen. Tom Cotton, Ark.
