President Trump this week gave former President Joe Biden a backhand admiration, celebrating his predecessor's unique ability to fall asleep quickly.
“These are the praises I admire about sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham in a recorded interview Tuesday. “He went to the beach and lay on his bed. He barely managed to step into the sand. He lay down and within a few minutes he was sleeping and looking at the camera.”
“I couldn't do that,” Trump continued. “I can never sleep like that. That's the only thing I think is great. It was a disaster, this guy was a disaster.”
During Trump's first term, At the time, Dr. Ronnie Jackson, a White House doctor, argued. That the commander had gone by four to five hours of sleep a night.
“I don't sleep much,” the 47th president told Ingraham this week. “A lot of people who love what they're doing won't sleep much, and up until now it was okay.”
Through many of Biden's presidency, Trump has chuckled him as “sleepy Joe” and continues the tradition of “disregarding nicknames for his rivals, including Little Marco.” [Rubio]” and “The curved hillary.” [Clinton]. ”
Biden frequently took vacations in Rehoboth Beach during his presidency, and was occasionally photographed at home near the sea.
On the campaign trail, Trump ribbed Biden's beach body and expressed confusion as to why the 46th President was thriving when he was photographed near the sea.
“He always goes to the beach,” Trump then riffed at a campaign rally last October. “Someone said he looks good in a swimsuit. Typically, an 82-year-old man doesn't look good in a swimsuit. There may be a couple, but I've never seen it.”
Despite the barb, Trump said Biden left him with a “inspirational” note on the determined desk in his oval office during the transition, leaving it in line with tradition.
“My prayer is that in the coming years, our nation will be an age of prosperity, peace and grace,” Biden wrote in the letter. “May God bless you and He blessed and guided us as we have blessed and guided our beloved nation since our founding.”
Earlier this week, Trump took another dig at Biden by yanking Secret Service Protection for his former first child Ashley and Hunter Biden.
He also questioned the legitimacy of President 46's pardon for the use of an autopen.
