Trump Congratulates New Citizens in Letter

In a recent letter, President Donald Trump congratulated newly naturalized immigrants on their citizenship. This announcement comes from the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Trump expressed joy for the new citizens, emphasizing their connection to the country. He reminded them of their oath to uphold American traditions, history, and culture. “America has always welcomed those who embrace our values and pledge loyalty to our nation,” he noted. “This rich heritage is now yours to protect and promote for future generations.”

He added, “The United States is your home, and you are part of one nation under God. In return for your pledge, America offers endless freedom and opportunity.”

Trump’s administration has maintained a consistent immigration stance, focusing on legal migration while criticizing the Biden administration’s policies. In his first press conference of his second term, he stated, “I’m fine with legal immigration. We need people, and we want to have it.”

DHS Deputy Chief Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital that citizenship is a sacred trust and emphasized the importance of maintaining American values and culture. She highlighted efforts to ensure that those becoming citizens fulfill their responsibilities to the new country.

USCIS has revamped the citizenship test to set high standards for applicants, ensuring that only those who are fully committed to American ideals become citizens. Starting Wednesday, Trump’s letter will reach all new citizens, an occasion that coincides with the anniversary of the Constitution’s signing in 1787.

In his letter, Trump expressed appreciation for the dedication of new citizens, stating, “As long as Americans continue to love our country and support our values, there is nothing our country cannot achieve. Our communities and our people thrive.” He concluded by saying, “Our traditions endure, and our future is brighter than ever.”
