Prince Harry Sends Thank You Letter to NYC Tattoo Artist

Prince Harry reached out to a tattoo artist in New York City with a personal note expressing gratitude for his “service in the media.” This followed a visit he made to the tattoo shop last year.

During September 2024, the 40-year-old Duke of Sussex was spotted at East Side Inc., a trendy tattoo parlor frequented by celebrities. Although he didn’t leave with a permanent tattoo, he did involve Jelly Roll in discussions about the closing ceremony headline for the Invictus Games in Vancouver Whistler 2025.

More than nine months later, the tattoo artist, Joshua Road, shared a heartfelt letter he received from Harry’s office. The Duke’s letter, dated October 17, 2024, began with a thank you for allowing East Side Ink to be part of a shoot.

Harry wrote, “It was incredibly kind. I really enjoyed meeting you and learning more about the history of your store.” He also complimented Joshua on his ability to artfully evade tricky questions from the media, saying it was impressive.

“They’ll be shocked to see the final cut,” Harry added, extending appreciation to the Invictus community for their partnership and support.

The letter also contained a personal invite for Joshua to attend the 2025 Invictus Games in February, stating, “If you want to come to Vancouver in February, we want to welcome you! The best, Harry.”

Alongside the letter, Joshua posted photos from his visit to the tattoo parlor, where he shared amusing moments involving the royals and Jelly Roll. He cheekily noted that Harry dubbed him a “skilled Dodger,” which he found to be quite a fitting nickname.

However, Joshua did make a small error by tagging the @Sussexroyal account, which Harry and Meghan Markle had to abandon after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

During his trip to East Side Ink, a shop known for inking stars like Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson, the owner was tight-lipped about specifics, stating, “I can’t confirm or deny anything.” He emphasized that they treat all customers like royalty, maintaining the utmost respect for their privacy.
