Prince Harry Reunites with King Charles
Prince Harry has seen his father, King Charles, for the first time in 20 months after a prolonged estrangement.
The Duke of Sussex visited Clarence House in London on Wednesday for a “private tea,” as reported by the New York Post. When a royal enthusiast inquired about the king’s well-being, Harry responded, “He’s great, thank you,” before being escorted away.
Harry arrived at the highly anticipated meeting in a black SUV. Notably, he did not receive a police escort, which is typical since his resignation from royal duties in 2020.
The two reportedly spent around 55 minutes together before Harry had to leave for an Invictus Horizons event at the Gherkin building in central London, where he engaged with locals and supporters.
Harry’s late arrival was attributed to traffic disruptions from ongoing subway strikes in London. He made a lighthearted remark to the gathered crowd about his delay, joking that their situation at the top of the Gherkin was possibly part of a plan since they were all “hammered.”
Prince William, who has not had recent conversations with Harry or his wife, Meghan Markle, was absent from this father-son meeting.
As for what was discussed between Harry and Charles, that remains unclear.
