On HBO's “Real Time” broadcast Friday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) praised the Oct. 7 attack and said, “Many of these university presidents have done a terrible job on the issue. demanded the dismissal of two California professors who said, this. They are afraid of their own shadow. They're afraid to actually talk about what happened on October 7th. ”
Moderator Bill Maher read out a quote from Osman Umarji, a lecturer at the University of California, Irvine. Said“Zionists are exposed for the sins of criminals and bloodthirsty animals.” [that] they are. This is a gift from Allah to the world. ” “He sends us reminders… whether it’s 9/11 or the Second Intifada. [or some other issue that is waking the Muslims’ spirit.]and Sean Malloy, associate professor of history and critical race and ethnic studies at the University of California, Merced. I retweeted a post that said Hamas terrorists “bravely paraglided over the fence and captured Israeli soldiers,” he said.
Maher then asked, “What comments would you give to California professors?”
Mr. Schiff replied, “Find another job.”
He added: “We are truly appalled that students are taking a break from college because they don't feel safe at school, they don't feel welcome, they don't feel welcomed on campus.” And I think many of the presidents of these universities have done a terrible job of addressing this issue. They are afraid of their own shadow. They're afraid to actually talk about what happened on October 7th. I think Israel has the right to defend itself. I think we have a duty to protect ourselves. You can care about the loss of Palestinian lives, and that's not mutually exclusive. But these days, it seems to many that it is impossible to have a heart big enough to not only grieve the loss of Israeli life, but also grieve the loss of Palestinian life. ”
