Pro-Life Pregnancy Center Vandalized by Anti-Israel Activists after DNC

At the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, anti-Israel activists recently vandalized a pro-life pregnancy center that provides housing and other free services to women.

“If you think you're in any way hurting those responsible for overturning Roe v. Wade, you're mistaken,” Fiorito said in a statement. Christian Post One aimed at vandals.

“You are harming struggling pregnant women by cutting them off, even if only temporarily, from services they freely sought,” she continued. “You cut them off from the free diapers and wipes, food and clothing they may have needed over the weekend. That's what you did.”

Friday, Post to XMary Fiorito, a research associate at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and a board member of Aid for Women, shared photos of the damage in the aftermath of the incident.

“For the past 25 years, I have had the honor of volunteering and serving on the board of directors for Aid for Women, a nonprofit organization that operates maternity hospitals and pregnancy support services throughout Illinois,” Fiorito said.

“Last night, after the Democratic National Convention concluded, vandals attacked one of AAFW's Chicago locations,” she added.

As can be seen in the photos, vandals spray-painted messages on the clinic's front door, including “Fake Clinic” and “Real Dead Babies Are In Gaza,” and they also filled the lock with cement to prevent patients and staff from entering the building.

Gina Marie, a former Aid for Women client, told CP in September 2022 that the nonprofit saved her life when she found out she was pregnant while homeless and struggling with addiction and contacted the organization. In response, Aid for Women offered her housing in one of their maternity clinics, provided transportation to interviews and helped her find a job.

She also recounted the time she fought back against a blog post that called pregnancy centers “akes,” and recalled all that Aid for Women had done for her.

“I thought to myself, 'For all you people who think pregnancy centers don't exist, they really do,'” Marie recalled writing on Facebook. “Me and my children would not be here today. I literally would not be here today. Without Aid for Women I would be dead or in prison.”
