Killer Kross: The Fearsome Wrestler with a Heart for Animals
Killer Kross is a name that resonates in the wrestling world. Known for his fierce reputation, some might even call him a “murderer.” Yet, beneath that intimidating exterior lies a softer side. Throughout his career, he hasn’t just fought in the ring but has poured his heart into becoming the Major League Wrestling (MLW) World Heavyweight Champion, especially notable during the intense Battle Riot VIII in January.
Recently, Kross had a chat with Fox News Digital about his new partnership with Veeps, and—unexpectedly—his cat decided to join in by jumping on his lap. Naturally, this led to a conversation about pets.
Kross and his wife, fellow wrestler Scarlett Bordeaux, had their lives transformed by a stray kitten they found on their porch, despite Kross having a lifelong allergy to cats. “So, I’m allergic to cats, which can be pretty serious,” he shared. “About a year and a half ago, this little kitten showed up at our door.” They often saw stray animals and had even fed dogs during their travels, so there was something in them that wished to help.
The kitten seemed to take a liking to them, initially disappearing after they’d left out some tuna. But when it returned, they formed a bond, even though Kross had to be careful due to his allergy. “We were heartbroken when we saw it again. The little guy didn’t have a home, but hey, we were feeding him. It started leaving little ‘gifts’ for us—like pieces of mice. I mean, I had to be careful, you know? One wrong move and I’d be in the hospital,” he laughed.
As fate would have it, the situation escalated. “Then the hurricane hit,” he recounted. “We thought, ‘We can’t leave him outside.’ So, we figured out a way to keep him safe.” They set up a little haven for the cat on their porch and even got him some toys. Over about six months, the kitten became a fixture in their lives.
Interestingly, Kross eventually found a way to get closer to the cat. “One day, I was sitting there and the little guy walked along my legs. I thought, maybe I could pet him… and, well, that didn’t go too well. I ended up with hives,” he said, hinting at the challenges of mixing love with allergies.
Despite initial hurdles, they decided to take the cat to the vet, investing a lot of money to ensure it was in good health. Kross explained, “So, I ended up spending a small fortune at the vet. I mean, she was super friendly for a stray, but you still worry. They found no health issues, thankfully.” They ended up getting various pet supplies and made adjustments in their home for the cat’s comfort, which included having their two dogs around too.
“The cats and dogs, they just clicked,” he said, sharing how the dynamic has shifted over time. “Before, the dogs would alert us whenever the cat was around, and now they all play together. Surprisingly, my cat allergy seems to have vanished. I don’t really understand it,” he mused.
While Kross is known for his fierce persona inside the ring, his affection towards animals shows a completely different side of him. This Saturday marks the debut of a new season of “MLW Fusion” on a global streaming platform, but it’s clear that his journey with his newfound furry family brings him just as much joy.
