Proposal to Ban Trans Athletes in Washington State Fails by One Vote

The proposal to prevent girls from competing in sports failed to pass Washington’s Youth Sports Governing Body in one vote.

On Monday, the Washington Scholastic Activities Association (WIAA) announced that the measure, a recommendation amendment since banning trans athletes who are currently violating Washington’s law, has won 31 votes, 22 votes and 22 votes. While achieving the majority of the votes, this measure failed with one vote and reached the 60% threshold required to pass.

“The seventh Amendment received 31 votes and 22 votes for passes. They only paid one vote for approval. The eighth Amendment created another ‘open’ division for trans athletes in Washington. It also limits sports for boys and girls. Report.

In February, President Trump overturned a Title IX change made by the Biden administration, saying that gender is not an identity but a gender that someone was assigned to at birth. The executive order has locked men out of women’s sports, and given federal agencies the power to investigate, withholding federal funds from entities that refused to comply with the order, where necessary.

“The president’s orders are directly inconsistent with state laws, including Washington’s discrimination laws and laws that prohibit discrimination in public schools. Our state law prohibits discrimination based on gender identity and will not step back. “Washington states do everything in our power to defend the rule of law, state its right to establish education policies, and protect the beautiful diversity of its 1.1 million students and educators. We believe in it includes love for discrimination and hatred.”
